We offer supported short intervention to address difficult classes.

This can include:

  • observation
  • consultation
  • intervention
  • review

The intervention may include resources, coaching and/or support in class.

Courses available

    Peer Mediation

Helps children become aware of the positive effects of affirmation, understand what is meant by conflict, and that they have a choice in solving conflicts or making them worse. The training assists them to develop their listening skills and to understand the value of listening, and also supports the understanding of different perspectives of situations and individuals.

This training is interactive, consisting of Circle Time, games and group work to aid knowledge, and retention.

Outcome

The children, by understanding the mediation process and achieving the necessary skills to mediate, can develop peer mediation within their school.

 

    Anti-bullying

Pupils will gain knowledge and understanding about what bullying is, the different types of bullying, how to identify it and who to tell. They will also discuss how they can protect themselves and others from bullying, and how to prevent it from happening. This training is interactive, consisting of Circle Time, games and group work to aid knowledge, and retention.

Outcome

Pupils will create an anti-bullying charter, and plan and deliver a whole school assembly to educate other pupils about bullying and spread awareness.

 

    Playground Pals

A co-ordinated approach to playground activities which is led by children and supervised by SMSA’s. This training is interactive, consisting of Circle Time, games and group work to aid knowledge, and retention.

Outcome

The Playground Pals teach and run games for other children. The games will need little or no equipment.
